Charlottetown, PE – PEI Connectors is pleased to announce the appointment of Beverly Perry as Regional Program Officer for the program’s new Kings County office. As Regional Program Officer, Perry will provide advisory services to immigrant entrepreneurs interested in launching and operating businesses in Kings County, as well as facilitate connections between clients and the local business community. Perry, who started her role on January 15th, 2018, will be based at the Montague and Souris Rural Action Centres on a part-time basis.
Perry has extensive experience in the financial industry, including a 37-year career with CIBC in Souris. During this time, she held various positions, including small business account manager, where she worked with a large client base in the agriculture and fisheries sectors, and small businesses. Perry served as branch manager for eleven years prior to retiring from this role in 2017. She is active in her community, having served as a volunteer with the Eastern PEI Chamber of Commerce, the North East (PEI) Community Alliance, Junior Achievement, the CIBC Run for the Cure, the Children’s Wish Foundation, and Souris and area minor hockey and ringette.
“Beverly’s familiarity with the local business environment will be valuable to immigrants exploring business opportunities in the region,” said Nicole Bellefleur, Program Manager, PEI Connectors. “We’re pleased to welcome her to the team.”
The introduction of this office in Kings County complements the services of PEI Connectors in Prince and Queen’s Counties. These services are made possible with the support of the Province of Prince Edward Island.
“PEI Connectors plays a vital role in our entrepreneurial ecosystem by identifying business opportunities on Prince Edward Island for foreign nationals and individuals interested in investing in our province,” said Chris Palmer, Minister of Economic Development and Tourism. “By expanding the service to Kings County PEI Connectors will broaden the range of potential investment and in some cases help bring much needed investment to Rural PEI.”
PEI Connectors serves immigrant entrepreneurs throughout PEI, with the goal of facilitating connections between clients and the PEI business community, to promote the retention of immigrant entrepreneurs. PEI Connectors is an initiative of the Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce.
