From 1999 to 2015, Nicole worked for FRHI Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s leading luxury hotel management companies, operating more than 110 hotels under the Raffles, Fairmont and Swissotel brands. She progressed through various positions in Charlottetown and Toronto, most recently managing the company’s B2B loyalty programs. Nicole holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Diploma in Public Administration from the University of Prince Edward Island.
Nicole has extensive international experience. As a participant in the world’s largest international exchange program, she lived and worked in Japan for three years. She travelled to the US, Europe, Asia and the Middle East representing FRHI Hotels and Resorts in sales missions, and at trade shows and industry events. In 2013, she travelled to Ethiopia as a member of the board of directors of the Vulnerable Children Society, to meet with in-country partners and government officials, and to conduct site-inspections of the organization’s projects. Through these experiences, she has learned to be mindful of local social and business customs; in particular, she has come to appreciate the importance of taking time to nurture relationships and build trust before discussing business.
Complementing her international experience is her love for the place she calls home, Prince Edward Island. This is where she has chosen to live, and she wants to contribute to her Island community through her work. There is so much potential here; she’s realistic about the challenges we face, yet determined to find ways to convert them to opportunities.
